SAN FRANCISCO, CA – January 15th 2007 – osxhelp.com debuts as the first basic Macintosh help site of its kind on the web. Scott Haneda (Founder) and Caroline Merchiers (Co-founder), bring a new perspective to the Mac help sites currently available. The site is designed for the beginning Mac user, whether it is their first computer or just their first Macintosh, and covers everything and anything that has to do with setting up and using your computer, no matter how small.
“As more and more people are buying their first Macintoshes, more and more people are in need of a good foundation for how to use their new computer” states Caroline Merchiers.
It was apparent there was a void among the existing Mac help sites that needed to be filled. A place where the most basic functions of OS X could be laid out in a clear and concise manner. A site that wasn’t overwhelming and confusing for the first time Mac user, and where there would never be any “stupid questions”.
“My goal is to explain in excruciatingly simple detail, the most basic of functions to learning how to use your computer.” explains Scott Haneda. “If you are on your second or third Macintosh, this site probably will not be of much benefit to you. On the other hand, you never know what you may stumble upon.”
The site will be updated with a new tutorial each day, and users are encouraged to ask questions and leave comments. Since Macintoshes do not come with an instruction manual, the goal is to fill that void.
Scott Haneda has an impressive resume, having worked with Macs for the past 15 years as a developer, designer, and consultant. He is also a contributing editor and technical writer for OSXFAQ.
Caroline Merchiers has worked with both Macs and PC’s for the past 10 years and has worked in design for the past 4 years.
